Comedian Joe Pasquale has continued to delight audiences with his live stand-up tours for over 30 years. Along the way he’s voiced characters for Hollywood movies Garfield: A Tale of Two Kittens and Horton Hears a Who! Children’s television animation – Frankenstein’s Cat and starred in The Muppets’ 25th Anniversary show.
Joe made his theatrical debut in 1999 in Larry Shue’s The Nerd which prompted Time Out to describe his performance as “rib-shatteringly funny” and went on to appear in the touring productions of Tom Stoppard’s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead in 2004; Mel Brooks’ The Producers in 2007; The Wizard of Oz in 2010, Doctor in the House with Robert Powell in 2012; Ha Ha Holmes – The Hound Of The Baskervilles in 2013; (2013-2015) in the West End and touring production of Spamalot in the starring role of King Arthur and most recently of course, in the lead role of Frank Spencer of Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em.
Added to this Joe was crowned King of the Jungle in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here in 2004; he hosted his own ITV Special An Audience With Joe Pasquale, hosted the long-running television series The Price is Right for ITV, starred in ITV’s Dancing on Ice in 2013; dangled from the ceiling of the London Palladium(!) in 2016 and 2017 for ITV’s Live From the Palladium; took part in ITV’s Sugar Free Farm; appeared in 5 Royal Variety Performances and most recently, took part in ITV1’s The All New Monty: Who Bares Wins for Stand Up To Cancer.
Having qualified as a pilot and taken up boxing and running, Joe has continued to enhance his ‘action man’ credentials by competing in a celebrity edition of Total Wipeout against the likes of Fatima Whitbread and Sally Gunnell; attempted to smash the ‘most amount of martial arts throws in a minute’ on Guinness World Records Smashed; spent time in a Costa Rican prison for Virgin One’s The Prisoner X documentary season and was shipped off to the jungles of Guyana for the Discovery Channel’s Alone in the Wild series, where he survived alone with a camera, in the depths of the rainforest for 5 days!
And when he finds the time, Joe is continuing to study for his Open University Degree in Geo Sciences!

I’m doing it all – hanging by my ankles, chicken chasing and all sorts. If it’s not dangerous or life threatening I’m not interested anymore.
No. That would be an insult to Michael. I will be projecting my own personality on to the role. When we did the final workshop we had an invited audience. All the younger people didn’t know the show or have a frame of reference with Michael, but they laughed their socks off. Even the older people who remember the original forgot Michael doing it in within five minutes – the script is so good.
Touring in Some Mothers will be a lot easier than my stand-up show, when a tour is usually forty one-nighters. A week in one place will be like a holiday.

JAMES PATERSON made his London debut in the original production of The Phantom Of The Opera, creating the roles of Don Attilio and Passarino. Within six months he played the title role when Michael Crawford was indisposed. He also played M. Andre and over ten years served as Resident Director for the National Tours and the London production.
His career began in 1974, singing a number of roles with Scottish Opera, while a member of the chorus, then in 1984 singing Leporello for Opera “80
Having studied Design at The Glasgow School Of Art, he has designed and directed a number of productions for Perth Festival Opera, The Dance School Of Scotland, Opera On A Shoestring, Isle Of Wight Theatres, GSA, Newbury Youth Theatre and Centrestage.
